Why do products end up at Secend?
We present you with different reasons why our products need to be saved from being thrown away.
Best before date
The main reason products end up in our shop is their best-before date. Many retailers demand a long remaining shelf life before accepting the goods from the manufacturer. However, the goods often remain at the manufacturer's premises. This is where Secend comes in: Instead of throwing the products away, we take them and offer them at up to 80% off. This creates a win-win situation: The products don't sit unused on the shelf, and you can save a lot of money.

Overproduction
Another reason is the overproduction of goods. Producers often cannot accurately estimate in advance how much will actually be sold and produce more than is ultimately needed. At the same time, new products are already waiting to hit store shelves. This is where Secend comes in: Instead of throwing away the surplus goods, we free up space in the warehouse and offer them for sale in our shop. These are not necessarily products that are close to or have already passed their expiration date.

Outdated packaging
A relatively rare reason is a change in packaging. It can be confusing for consumers when two products from the same manufacturer appear on the shelf, but have the same appearance but the same contents. This is where Secend steps in: We take these products from the manufacturer and offer them in our online shop. This way, we help reduce food waste and protect your budget.

Seasonal products
In the Rettershop, you'll occasionally find seasonal products. What does that mean exactly? How can Christmas chocolate, for example, still be sold in the spring? Leftover goods are often simply thrown away. We, on the other hand, also accept products that are less in demand outside of their typical season—after all, food is still food, and there's no reason to waste it. That's why we offer winter chocolate in the spring and summer iced teas in the fall, doing something good for both the environment and your wallet!

Production errors, printing errors & co
Other less common reasons can include printing errors on the packaging, a changed recipe, production errors, or the manufacturer discontinuing a product. Discover exciting product stories, save money, and contribute to protecting the environment.
